I'm a Chatterbox Launches Comeback in $100,000 Doubledogdare Stakes
On Friday at Keeneland, the featured race is the $100,000 Doubledogdare Stakes. Restricted to fillies and mares, the Grade 3 event will be contested at a mile and a sixteenth and has drawn a field of nine.
I’m a Chatterbox tops the field as the heavy favorite at odds of 3-5 on the morning line for trainer Larry Jones. A chestnut daughter of Munnings, she has been on the board in nine of her eleven starts and is a multiple graded stakes winner. She has been on the sidelines since finishing eighth in the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) and has been training steadily for her return with several recent bullet workouts. Florent Geroux will be in the irons and they will break from post position two.A
Ahh Chocolate making second start off the bench
Second choice at morning line odds of 4-1 is Ahh Chocolate for trainer Neil Howard. Bred and owned by Stoneway Farm, the four-year-old filly is a daughter of Candy Ride (ARG) and has won four of her ten starts. She returned off of a four-month layoff to finish third in a minor stakes race at Fair Grounds last time out and is trying to earn her second graded stakes win. Brian Hernandez, Jr. will be aboard and they will break from post position six.
Step up in class for well-bred Innovative Idea
Also in the field at morning line odds of 20-1 is longshot Innovative Idea for trainer Eoin Harty. A homebred for Godolphin, the bay daughter of Bernardini is out of a multiple graded stakes winning mare and has been on the board in nine of her twelve starts. She is trying for her first black type win and is stepping up in class after winning an allowance race at Tampa Bay Downs. James Graham will be aboard and they will break from the outside post.
